What This Means for LEGO and Pokémon Fans

After years of fans dreaming about building their favorite Pokémon in brick form, The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International have made it official. For the first time ever, LEGO is launching official Pokémon-themed building sets — and they’re dropping on

This collaboration brings together two iconic brands that have shaped childhoods around the world, giving Trainers new ways to experience the Pokémon universe “brick by brick.” Whether you’ve been collecting badges since day one or just love cool display builds, there’s something here to get excited about.

What Sets Are Coming

The first wave includes three major sets that let you build and showcase some fan-favorite Pokémon:

🔹 LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball

This set recreates one of the most classic Pokémon moments — Pikachu bursting out of its Poké Ball. With dynamic posing and electric energy effects built into the base, it’s a standout piece for any display.

🔹 LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise

This is the showstopper — a massive set with all three original Gen 1 starter evolutions rendered in LEGO form. You can build each Pokémon individually, or combine them on a themed display stand inspired by their environments.

🔹 LEGO Pokémon Eevee

Perfect for both seasoned builders and casual fans, this build brings Eevee’s charm to life. With a poseable design and playful expression, it makes a great display piece and a fun project to build.

All three sets will be available to pre-order starting January 12 through the LEGO Pokémon hub online, and then for general purchase at LEGO Stores, Pokémon Center, and LEGO.com starting February 27.

Trainer Challenge: A Scavenger Hunt for Fans

To make this launch even more interactive, LEGO and Pokémon are rolling out a Trainer Challenge that runs from January 12 through February 27. Fans can hunt for hidden clues across LEGO and Pokémon digital content — and those who track them all down could unlock rewards and even enter to win the ultimate prize: a trip to PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, plus all three new LEGO Pokémon sets.

A special password will drop on Pokemon.com starting January 26, so keep an eye out if you want in.

Bonus Gifts and Goodies

On top of the main sets, LEGO is sweetening the deal with exclusive extras:

🎖 Kanto Region Badge Collection — A display set featuring all eight Kanto badges will be offered as a gift with purchase when you buy the largest set (Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise) while supplies last.

🏥 Mini Pokémon Center — LEGO Insiders members can redeem points for a cute mini Pokémon Center build — complete with classic game-inspired details — available while stocks last.

What This Means for LEGO and Pokémon Fans

This moment feels huge for both communities. Pokémon has been a part of gaming culture for over 30 years, and now LEGO builders have a new way to bring that world into physical form. Whether you’re a longtime Trainer, a LEGO enthusiast, or someone who loves creative collectibles, these sets hit a sweet spot between nostalgia and display-worthy craftsmanship.
